The 12th Gary Lineker Charity Golf Day sponsored by Walkers was held on Wednesday 10th September 2008 at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water.

The previous weekend saw relentless rainfall, casting doubts that the course would even be open - but sure enough, come the morning of the 10th, the sun shone on all the foursomes who came to lend their support to Fight for Life.

Many celebrity friends arrived to host the 4Balls, this year surprising us with even more celebs than teams!

Wentworth's famous hospitality was sublime, even the halfway house served delicious fare!

After a great day of golf, our golfers and their guests enjoyed a reception and delicious dinner in the beautiful grand ballroom.

Paul Zerdin's hilarious humour entertained everyone followed by our ever supportive and extremely amusing auctioneer and patron, Bobby Davro, who did wonders to extract money from our willing guests with a fun style auction!

Over 80k was raised at the event going towards our ongoing radio therapy funding. This is hugely appreciated, especially in the current economic climate.

We think everyone involved will agree, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all and we look forward to 2009!
