Fight for Life Team Visit to the UCH Hospital

The Fight for Life team were invited to the new UCH and in particular, the Nuclear Medicine department to see the newly installed PET/CT Scanner. We were shown around the facility by Prof. Peter Ells, the head of Nuclear Medicine. Our new machine, installed early in 2007 was demonstrated and we were shown what a fundamental difference such a machine will make for the detection of cancer cells in children. Afterwards, we visited the Radiotherapy Department and were shown our recently installed and re-branded Linear Accelerator. Fight for Life will be having a dedication ceremony later this year.
